Caliper Piston Pucks – Porsche GT3 / GT3 RS / GT4 / Turbo

Demon Speed caliper piston pucks are a durable replacement for the brittle factory ceramic pucks used in many Porsche GT3, GT3 RS, GT4, Turbo and Turbo S brake calipers.

The piston puck provides an important thermal barrier between the brake pad and aluminum caliper piston, helping reduce heat transfer into the piston and ultimately the brake fluid.

Factory ceramic pucks provide excellent thermal insulation but can crack, chip or break after repeated heat cycles and track use. Demon Speed developed a high-strength replacement designed to provide excellent thermal isolation without the fragility of the original ceramic component.

Pucks are sold as a set. One set services one caliper.

Two Puck Material Options

Demon Speed Tested Material – Recommended

Our preferred solution based on real-world track testing. This proprietary material provides excellent resistance to heat transfer while offering significantly greater durability than the original ceramic puck.

Grade 5 Titanium

Available for customers who prefer a titanium solution. Grade 5 titanium offers excellent strength, temperature resistance and relatively low thermal conductivity.

Based on our own testing and experience, Demon Speed prefers our tested material for this application, but both options provide a durable alternative to damaged factory ceramic pucks.

Puck Sizes & Applications

Earlier-style pucks are used across applicable 981 / 718 GT4 and GT4 RS, 991 GT3 / GT3 RS, 991 Turbo / Turbo S and related applications.

Later 2023+ 992 applications use a revised puck design with a curved/sloped outer profile and reduced pad contact area. Demon Speed’s later replacement pucks retain this revised geometry.

Important: There are two different 34 mm rear puck designs. Select by vehicle application and geometry, not diameter alone.

Retaining Screw Options

The pucks are retained to the coated aluminum caliper piston using M5 x 0.8 flat-head screws.

Choose from:

Carbon Steel – Standard replacement retaining screw.

Titanium – Helps further reduce conductive heat transfer through the retaining screw into the aluminum piston.

Suggested installation torque: approximately 3 N·m (27 in-lb).

Install the screw snugly and evenly. Do not over-tighten. The screw threads into an aluminum piston, and excessive torque can damage the piston threads.

The 3 N·m figure is a Demon Speed installation guideline based on threading into aluminum, not a Porsche factory torque specification.

For later 992 cars, be sure to select the correct revised-geometry puck where applicable.
