The GiroDisc A1-019A is designed for the first-generation Porsche 996 GT3.

The 996.1 GT3 originally used a smaller front brake rotor configuration than the later 996.2 GT3. This GiroDisc kit provides a 350mm two-piece floating rotor system with the required spacers and mounting bolts for the intended application.

The larger rotor configuration offers an alternative for drivers looking to upgrade their braking system while retaining compatible factory calipers.

Two-Piece Floating Rotor Construction

Each GiroDisc rotor combines a proprietary cast-iron friction ring with a lightweight center hat machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum.

The floating mounting system uses 10 high-strength alloy-steel drive pins to transmit braking forces while allowing controlled axial and radial movement between the rotor ring and aluminum hat.

The drive pins are secured with class 12.9 cap screws and hardened washers. Anti-noise spring washers help reduce rattling when the brakes are cold while accommodating thermal expansion during operation.

This floating construction allows the friction rings to expand independently of the hats and helps maintain alignment with the brake pads during repeated braking cycles.

Curved-Vane Internal Cooling

GiroDisc incorporates curved internal cooling vanes developed for motorsports applications.

As the rotors turn, the internal vanes help draw cooling air through the friction rings to manage temperatures during repeated heavy braking.
