Replacement flywheel bolt sets for Porsche 996, 997, 991 and 992 GT3 Cup cars.

Flywheel bolts are critical engine fasteners, and the installation requirements vary between GT3 Cup generations. Demon Speed offers the correct bolt set for each application, from the 996 GT3 Cup through the 992 GT3 Cup.

Porsche Flywheel Tightening Specifications

The flywheel installation procedure is not the same for every GT3 Cup generation. Use the correct procedure for your application.

996 GT3 Cup

Tighten the flywheel-to-crankshaft bolts to:

90 Nm

Follow the Porsche service procedure and tightening sequence for installation.

997 GT3 Cup / 991.1 GT3 Cup

Porsche specifies the following procedure when installing a used flywheel:

1. Use new flywheel bolts, Porsche Part Number 930.102.206.00
2. Tighten the bolts crosswise to 30 Nm (22 ft-lb)
3. Retighten the bolts crosswise to 30 Nm (22 ft-lb) + 45°

Installing a New Flywheel – 997 / 991.1

Porsche specifies an additional seating procedure when installing a new flywheel.

The new flywheel should first be installed using used bolts:

1. Install the new flywheel using the used bolts
2. Tighten the bolts crosswise to 30 Nm (22 ft-lb)
3. Retighten crosswise to 30 Nm (22 ft-lb) + 45°
4. Loosen and remove the used bolts
5. Replace them with new 930.102.206.00 bolts
6. Tighten the new bolts crosswise to 30 Nm (22 ft-lb)
7. Retighten crosswise to 30 Nm (22 ft-lb) + 45°

This initial installation allows the new flywheel to seat before the final installation with new bolts.

991.2 GT3 Cup / 992 GT3 Cup

Porsche specifies the following procedure:

1. Use new N90665001 flywheel screws
2. Tighten the screws in a diagonally opposite sequence to 60 Nm (44.3 ft-lb)
3. Tighten again in a diagonally opposite sequence an additional 90°

Do not reuse the screws after they have been through the specified tightening procedure.

Use the Correct Hardware and Procedure

The flywheel fastening system changed across the GT3 Cup generations. Do not assume the bolt or tightening specification from one generation applies to another.
